The land and recreation grants section highlights programs that support partnerships aimed at protecting, enhancing, and sustaining Florida’s natural and cultural resources. These grant programs help expand access to high-quality outdoor recreation opportunities, improve public lands and facilities, and enrich the quality of life for Florida’s residents and visitors by encouraging stewardship, conservation and community engagement.

Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Florida Forever Program

This grant program provides state funding to acquire land and facilities–including piers, wharves, and docks–for the restoration and preservation of working waterfronts used by licensed commercial fishermen, aquaculturists, or related business entities.

Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Capital Outlay Grant Program

This state-funded grant program provides financial support to commercial saltwater product businesses, seafood dealers and marine aquaculture industries for developing working waterfronts, including infrastructure for receiving and unloading seafood, helping to strengthen Florida's commercial fishing industry and seafood economy.

This federal grant program, funded by the U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service, supports land acquisition and development for public recreation and partners with federal, state, and local efforts to protect parks, trails, historic sites, forests, and working lands while providing communities the resources they need for conservation and recreation.

Readiness and Recreation Initiative Grant Program

The Land and Water Conservation Fund State Assistance + Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration Partnership Challenge Program, known as the Readiness and Recreation Initiative Grant Program, is a federal grant opportunity funded by the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, and the Department of Defense. Authorized by Congress, the program provides for the acquisition or acquisition and development of compatible recreation facilities on public lands within a Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration Partnership Agreement area.
